ImgColorPicker: pick colours from images and check contrast

Need a hand? Write to contact@imgcolorpicker.org. Tell us your device and what happened, and we will get back to you.

How do I pick a colour?

Open a photo, then press and drag on it. A magnifier shows the exact pixel under your finger, and the colour is taken when you let go. Pinch with two fingers to zoom in on small details.

The app cannot see my photos or camera

Allow access in your device settings. On iPhone and iPad: Settings → ImgColorPicker → Photos or Camera. On Android: Settings → Apps → ImgColorPicker → Permissions.

What do AA, AAA and Lc mean?

AA and AAA are the WCAG 2 contrast levels for text. Lc is the APCA score, a newer way to measure readability. The two often disagree, so the app shows both. For more, see the contrast checker on imgcolorpicker.org.

Where are my saved palettes?

On your device only. They are not synced or backed up by us, and deleting the app deletes them.
